Teknologi Tepat Guna Pengolahan Limbah Ikan (Kasus: Kegiatan IbM Mesin Pembuat Tepung Ikan)

Abstract"“ Besarnya potensi perikanan di Kabupaten Pontianak berbanding terbalik dengan taraf hidup dan tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat nelayan, khususnya di daerah Sungai Kunyit. Menurut data-data Dinas Perikanan dan Kelautan Kabupaten Pontianak dan hasil survey di lapangan ditemukan bahwa dan permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok mitra adalah: (1) Pengolah limbah ikan laut belum tersentuh teknologi; (2) Di daerah Sungai Kunyit limbah ikan (seperti ikan-ikan dengan ukuran kecil ataupun jenis ikan yang tidak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat) sebagian besar tidak termanfaatkan atau dibuang sia-sia. Solusi yang ditawarkan oleh tim pelaksana I bM adalah melakukan transfer ipteks dan memberikan keterampilan penerapan Teknologi Tepat Guna Mesin Pembuat Tepung Ikan dengan memanfaatkan besarnya potensi limbah ikan yang tersedia di Sungai Kunyit Kabupaten Pontianak. Dengan diberikannya keterampilan pemanfaatan teknologi tepat guna tersebut diharapkan dapat memberikan peluang usaha dengan prospek yang menjanjikan yang pada akhirnya akan berdampak pada peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Sungai Kunyit Kabupaten Pontianak meningkat, khususnya kelompok masyarakat yang bergerak dalam bidang usaha pengolahan dan budidaya ikan. Usaha pembuatan tepung ikan dapat bersinergi dengan kelompok-kelompok usaha masyarakat yang bergerak di bidang usaha budidaya ikan air tawar (keramba) dan usaha peternakan.
