Efek Pilot Pollution Dan Cell Breathing Terhadap Performansi Jaringan WCDMA

Abstract– Permasalahan yang sering dijumpai pada jaringan yang menggunakan multiple access CDMA, dalam hal ini WCDMA adalah cell breathing dan pilot pollution. Sinyal pilot merupakan sinyal yang dijadikan sebagai acuan oleh mobile station untuk mengenali dan membedakan identitas dari masing-masing base station. Pilot pollution disebabkan oleh adanya 3 atau lebih sinyal dengan daya yang hampir sama pada suatu area, yang mana interferensi (Io) akan meningkat ketika mobile station menangkap sinyal-sinyal pilot tersebut dalam waktu yang bersamaan sehingga menyebabkan level Eb/Io yang terukur oleh pengguna dari base station menjadi menurun. Sedangkan cell breathing merupakan fenomena membesar dan mengecilnya cakupan sel.Pada penelitian ini dibahas tentang pengaruh efek pilot pollution dan cell breathing pada daerah “ambiguitas”, dan parameter yang digunakan untuk mengukur kinerja tersebut yaitu kapasitas sel, total kepadatan interferensi, kenaikan daya noise akibat efek pilot, serta kontrol daya yang tidak sempurna.
