Abstract

This study investigates insulation resistance failures in newly manufactured power transformers at PT XYZ, focusing on the application of Applied Voltage Test as the main method to detect potential insulation failures. Different from previous studies that focus more on transformers that have been in operation for a long time, this study identifies that insulation failure in new transformers can be caused by production factors, such as insulation paper degradation due to exposure to temperature and humidity during the manufacturing process. The research was conducted through direct observation, structured interviews with testing technicians, and comparative analysis of two transformer units. The test results showed significant differences between the two units, where Transformer Unit 2 failed the test due to insulation paper degradation, which was confirmed through physical inspection. This study emphasizes the importance of Applied Voltage Test in identifying insulation defects at an early stage and shows that the quality of materials and production processes greatly affect the reliability of transformers. The findings make new contributions to understanding the causes of insulation failures in new transformers, as well as provide practical recommendations for optimization of test methods and improvement of production quality, thereby minimizing the risk of insulation failures in new transformers. Furthermore, this research highlights the significance of early detection through Polarization Index testing, which can serve as an indicator of insulation degradation. These insights are crucial for improving quality control in transformer manufacturing and ensuring the reliability of power distribution systems.

Dr.Ir. Jamaaluddin, MM, lahir di Surabaya, Indonesia, pada tanggal 17 Oktober 1970, lulus dengan gelar B.S. di bidang Teknik Elektro dari Universitas Brawijaya, Malang Indonesia, pada tahun 1992, M.S. dalam Magister Manajemen Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogjakarta pada tahun 2013 dan Doktor Teknik Elektro Institut Teknologi 10 Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, Indonesia pada tahun 2020.
Kontribusi utamanya adalah di bidang Teknik Listrik Tenaga dan Teknik Buatan, pemodelan radiasi matahari dan penilaian sumber daya, sistem fotovoltaik surya tingkat lanjut (fotovoltaik yang terhubung ke jaringan, sel bahan bakar regeneratif bertenaga surya, produksi hidrogen surya, sel surya silikon film tipis) dan sistem panas matahari tingkat lanjut. (pendinginan tenaga surya, pompa panas tenaga surya, pengeringan dengan bantuan tenaga surya, gabungan kolektor termal fotovoltaik atau hibrida).
Beliau telah terlibat dalam banyak penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dan telah menerima pendanaan dari pemerintah Indonesia lebih dari 10 kali lipat dengan nilai pendanaan lebih dari Rp 1 miliar. Beliau menjadi anggota forum teknik elektro Indonesia sejak tahun 2015 hingga sekarang. Ia telah memperoleh beberapa paten sederhana dan beberapa penghargaan di bidang akademik.

Shazana Dhiya Ayuni, S.ST., M.T. Saya berdomisili di Griya Candi Asri Blok W1B, Gelam Sidoarjo. Pendidikan SMPN 1 Surabaya, SMAN 9 Surabaya, Tahun 2009 D4 Teknik Elektronika Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya, pada Tahun 2013 mendapatkan beasiswa fresgraduate DIKTI pada jenjang S2 Teknik Elektro di Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya dengan bidang Telekomunikasi Multimedia. Kemudian berkarir di bidang elektrikal kontraktor sampai tahun 2019. dan mulai berkarir di UMSIDA di tahun 2019. Pada tahun 2021 menerima hibah riset dan abdimas institusi dengan judul †Sistem Monitoring Keamanan Tanggul Lumpur Lapindo berbasis IoT†dan menjadi peneliti terbaik. di tahun 2021 menjadi Sekertaris Program Studi Teknik Elektro UMSIDA. Pada tahun 2023 menerima hibah abdimas DIKTI. Pada tahun 2024 sedang menjalai studi lanjut doktoral di Teknik Elektro di Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya dengan bidang Telekomunikasi Multimedia. Topik Riset terdapat pada bidang Wirelless Sensor Network dan Multimedia. Dosen pengampu dengan mata kuliah Sistem Sinyal dan Telekomunikasi, Pengolahan Citra, Jaringan Telekomunikasi, Probabiltas dan Statistik, Medan Elektromagnet
