The Impact of Utilizing Google Voice Assistant as A Media to Enhance Speaking Skills

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak penggunaan Google Voice Assistant sebagai media untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa semester 2 program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Tanjungpura. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif eksperimental dengan desain pra-eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 2 program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris tahun ajaran 2023-2024. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling, dengan kelas B2 sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang terdiri dari 11 mahasiswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes berbicara dengan melibatkan penggunaan asisten suara. Data penelitian berupa nilai tes berbicara mahasiswa pada pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa secara signifikan setelah menggunakan Google Voice Assistant. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa Google Voice Assistant efektif sebagai media untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa, khususnya penggunaan asisten suara untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi lisan.
