Kandungan kontaminan kimia, radioaktif dan senyawa intrinsik beracun pada tanaman obat

Latar Belakang: Saat ini penggunaan obat herbal mengalami peningkatan,
terutama di negara berkembang karena terdapat asumsi bahwa obat herbal
memiliki sifat alami dan lebih aman. Dengan adanya kepopuleran dan ekspansi pasar global dari obat herbal, maka faktor keamanan mendapat perhatian cukup besar. Hasil: Beberapa penyebab buruknya kualitas obat herbal adalah substitusi atau kesalahan identifikasi terhadap spesies tanaman beracun, dan penggunaan bahan baku tanaman obat yang terkontaminasi bahan-bahan berbahaya, seperti kontaminan kimia dan radioaktif. Kesimpulan: Perlu dilakukan tindakan pencegahan untuk menghindari kontaminasi, dan menjamin keamanan dan keseragaman standar kualitas obat herbal.
