Abstract

The purpose of the research is to know the effect of the hazelnut skin waste as coarse aggregate in the concrete mix design, especially of compressive strength resulted.The testmethod used is the ACIMethod, with a compressive strength plan 20 MPa. The cement used is a cement PCC. The test object is made cylindrical with diameter 15 cm and 30 cm height. It is not done deeper observation and early treatment of the skin hazelnut, the hazelnutskin used field conditions.There are two sample variances of concrete, concrete replacing all aggregate with hazelnut skin and also samples of crushed stone aggregate concrete.The test specimen includes compressive strength test, tensile test spilt, and modulus of elasticity test. From the research the compressive strength of concrete characteristics aggregate hazelnut skin ages 3, 7, 14, 21, and 28 days, respectively produce compressive strength of concrete characteristics 3,07 MPa; 5,02 MPa; 6,51 MPa; 7,03 MPa, and 8,40 MPa. Tensile strength split of aggregate concrete hazelnut skin average 0,99 MPa. Modulus of Elasticity concrete average aggregate concrete skinhazelnut is 3090,24 MPa.It can be concluded thathazelnut skin is not good for usage as a coarse aggregate in the concrete mix and can only be used as the added material aggregate, so it not for the replacement of the overall aggregate.
