Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa SMP Patra Dharma 1 Balikpapan dalam bidang mikrokontroler. Mikrokontroler merupakan komponen penting dalam berbagai perangkat elektronik dan sistem otomatisasi. Mikrokontroler, yang awalnya hanya digunakan oleh para ahli, kini semakin populer di kalangan masyarakat umum terutama melalui alat seperti Arduino. Namun, pemahaman terhadap teknologi ini masih terbatas di kalangan siswa sehingga perlu dilakukan kegiatan pengenalan mikrokontroler beserta media pembelajaran yang dapat dimanfaatkan di sekolah. Kegiatan ini menekankan pentingnya pengenalan dini terhadap teknologi mikrokontroler untuk membekali siswa dengan keterampilan yang diperlukan di industri dan dunia penelitian. Melalui pendekatan pembelajaran yang melibatkan pre-test dan post-test, kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman siswa. Rata-rata nilai partisipan meningkat dari 50,77 pada pre-test menjadi 74 pada post-test yang mencerminkan peningkatan pemahaman materi mikrokontroler sebesar 45,76%. Meskipun hasil ini menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan, namun terdapat potensi peningkatan lebih lanjut melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran yang lebih efisien dan interaktif. Selain itu, kolaborasi berkelanjutan dengan pihak sekolah diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman siswa mengenai relevansi dan peluang karir yang terkait dengan teknologi ini. Dengan demikian, diharapkan hasil lulusan dapat memenuhi ekspektasi industri yang terus berkembang.
