BAHASA DAN MASYARAKAT

Artikel ini berbicara mengenai keterkaitan antara ilmu kebahasaan dan kecenderungan masyarakat dalam berbahasa. Diawali dengan pembahasan mengenai munculnya kajian linguistik modern, artikel menguraikan kemunculan kajian sosiolinguistik, perbedaan sosiolinguistik dan sosiologi bahasa, pendekatan-pendekatan dalam sosiolinguistik, dan diakhiri dengan penguraian atas prinsip-prinsip dalam penelitian sosiolinguistik. Kajian yang digunakan di sini sepenuhnya adalah kajian kepustakaan dan hasilnya berupa deskripsi-deskripsi teoritis yang bersifat kumulatif.
