THE EFFECT OF PAITAN GREEN MANURE AND NPK FERTILIZER ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF COMMON BEAN ON ALLUVIAL SOIL

Common beans can thrive through proper fertilizer application. Paitan green manure is expected to increase alluvial soil fertility. Nutrient content which is still low in paitan green manure can be increased by using NPK fertilizer. The aim of this study was to determine the interaction of paitan green manure and NPK fertilizer to increase the growth and yield of ccommon bean on alluvial soil. This research was conducted at a location on Pontianak, from March to June 2022. This study used a factorial design with a completely randomized and was repeated 3 times. The factors that were tested included green manure with doses of 10, 20, and 30 tons ha-1, as well as a dose factor of NPK fertilizer consisting of 200, 250, and 300 kg ha-1, for each treatment there were 4 sample plants. The variables observed were age of flowering, root volume, plant dry weight, number of pods plant-1, pod weight plant-1, pod weight pod-1 and pod length plant-1. Based on the results of the study, there was an interaction between paitan green manure and NPK fertilizer on the number and weight of pods planted. The best combination was 20 tons ha-1 of green manure and 250 tons ha-1 of NPK fertilizer to produce 41.11 pods per plant and pod weight per plant reached 118.58 g.
