Analysis The Influence of Salary Decrease towards Employee Performance through The Mediation of Anxiety and Work Motivation in Pandemic Covid-19

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how Salary Decreases can affect Employee Performance through The Mediation of Anxiety and Work Motivation in Pandemic Covid-19. Recently, the world has been shaken with pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan, China and it's called Covid-19. One of the impacts that have occurred on society, especially workers as a result of pandemic Covid -19 is salary decrease. In addition, an effect that was also felt by workers was an offensive effect on mental health which causes work stress. Kind of work stress that occurs to the workers in many situations is anxiety. Salary decrease also can affect employee"™s work motivation. Anxiety and work motivation have a big impact on employee's performance. Employee performance can be disrupted due to anxiety and low work motivation that occured by someone. This research was conducted in Pontianak city with 63 samples. In this research, the data analysis method used was the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEMPLS) method. To perform analysis with the PLS method, this research uses software SmartPLS 3.3. The hypothesis of this research is H1: Salary Decrease has a positive effect towards Employee"™s Performance. H2: Salary Decrease has a positive effect towards Anxiety. H3: Salary Decrease has a positive effect towards Work Motivation. H4: Work Motivation has a positive effect towards Anxiety. H5: Anxiety mediates the positive influences between Salary Decrease and Employee Performance. H6: Work Motivation mediates the positive influences between Salary Decrease and Employee Performance.
