The Effect of Transformational Leadership, Extrinsic Motivation, and Marketing Capability on Employee Performance at PT Borneo Icon Properti Pontianak
Abstract
Transformational leadership is a complex process that forms a binding relationship between leaders and followers together in transformation and change. Extrinsic motivation is motivation that comes from outside the self that determines a person's behavior in his life so that someone wants to take an action. Marketing capability is a set of skills possessed by company resources in the field of marketing that is developed in an organization in running a business better. Employee performance is the result of work in quality and quantity achieved by an employee in carrying out his duties in accordance with the responsibilities given to him. This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership, extrinsic motivation, and marketing capabilities on employee performance at PT Borneo Icon Properti Pontianak. This research is a quantitative research. The population in this study were employees of PT Borneo Icon Properti Pontianak. The sample in this study were employees who had worked more than a month totaling 34 employees who were determined by a non-probability sampling technique in the form of purposive sampling. Furthermore, the data was processed using the program of SPSS 28. The results showed that transformational leadership had a significant but negative effect on employee performance, in contrast to extrinsic motivation and marketing capabilities which had a significant and positive effect on employee performance. Then, the variables of transformational leadership, extrinsic motivation, and marketing capabilities explain their influence on employee performance, which is 56.5% while 43.5% is influenced by variables outside the study.
