Abstract

The author's interest in conducting this research was based on observations and interviews with several employees at BKPSDM Kabupaten Melawi. It was found that there were quite a lot of problems regarding the tasks given by the organization to employees at BKPSDM Kabupaten Melawi. There is also a lack of employee responsibility in carrying out the assigned tasks so that it imposes its duties on other employees. And there are also employees who do not understand the tasks assigned so they need the help of other employees where these things can affect employee performance which can cause job stress and employee job satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of workload on employee performance with job stress and job satisfaction as intervening variables at the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency of Melawi Regency. The type of this research is quantitative research in associative form using path analysis as a research method. The number of samples is 50 respondents who were taken from the employees at BKPSDM Kabupaten Melawi with used saturation sampling technique. The results showed that partially workload had a significant effect on work stress and job satisfaction at BKPSDM Kabupten Melawi. However, workload does not have a significant effect on employee performance at BKPSDM Kabupaten Melawi. And work stress does not act as a mediating variable between workload and employee performance at BKPSDM Kabupaten Melawi. Meanwhile, the job satisfaction variable acts as a mediating variable between workload and employee performance at BKPSDM Kabupaten Melawi.
