Effect of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Work Discipline on Work Motivation that Impact on Employee Performance at PT.FIF (Federal International Finance)
Abstract
The Covid-19 case in Pontianak during the pandemic was quite worrying, there was a significant increase in Covid-19 problems, according to the Pontianak City Health Office in February 2022. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, companies are required to implement health protocols in the work environment so as to create a work environment safe, because many employees are afraid to do WFO (Work From Office) because the risk of exposure to the Covid-19 virus is quite large. This causes a decrease in employee motivation which will also have an impact on employee performance. This research was conducted at PT.FIF Pontianak branch with a total sample of 114 people. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) and Work Discipline on Work Motivation which affect Employee Performance. Quantitative research methods were used in this study by utilizing primary data obtained from the results of collecting questionnaires. The data analysis method used is SPSS version 18. The hypothesis in this study is H1: Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) has a significant effect on Work Motivation. H2: Work Discipline has a significant effect on Work Motivation. H3: Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) has a significant effect on employee performance. H4: Work Discipline has a significant effect on Employee Performance. H5: Work Motivation has a significant effect on Employee Performance. H6: Work Motivation mediates the relationship between Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Employee Performance. H7: Work Motivation mediates the relationship between Work Discipline and Employee Performance. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence between OHS on Work Motivation, Work Discipline on Work Motivation and there is a significant influence between OHS on Employee Performance, Work Discipline on Employee Performance. There is an influence between Work Motivation on Employee Performance. Work Motivation can mediate the relationship between OHS and Employee Performance, and Work Motivation can mediate the relationship between Work Discipline and Employee Performance.
