THE BURNING OUT MILLENNIALS AT WORK THE IMPACT OF DEMAND-CONTROL-SUPPORT MODEL AND ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT INDIVIDUAL INTERVENTIONS ON PREVENTING OCCUPATIONAL BURNOUT
Abstract
Occupational burnout is a significant issue among millennials, who are more prone to burnout due to professional stress and new challenges. The fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry in Indonesia, particularly PT L, is facing increasing demands and high levels of stress among its millennial employees. This research aims examine the impact of Demand-Control-Support Model and Organizational Development Individual Interventions on preventing occupational burnout in FMCG millennial employee and highlighting the importance of systemic solutions. An online survey composed of 30 statements using Google Forms was conducted. The survey consisted of statements regarding the Job Demand Job Control Social Support and Organization Development Individual Interventions that the respondent's received and dimensions of Burnout that they experienced. The findings of the first hypothesis testing reveal that the Demand-Control-Support Model significantly affects Occupational Burnout among Millennial employees at PTL. Organizational development individual interventions, such as management training, vocational rehabilitation, and job redesign, help buffer the effect of high job demands on Millennials employees' burnout. To prevent further burnout, control, support, and intervention measures should be implemented.
