TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP MAHASISWI FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS TANJUNGPURA TERHADAP PEMERIKSAAN PAYUDARA SENDIRI (SADARI)
Abstract
Background. Breast cancer was reported as the top cancer among allcancers in women in 2008. Breast self-examination (BSE) is essential for
breast cancer’s early detection.
Objective. This research was aimed to know the knowledge and attitude of
every female student in Faculty of Medicine at Tanjungpura University about
breast self-examination for breast cancer’s early detection.
Method. This research was adescriptive study with cross-sectional approach.
Every female student in Faculty of Medicine at Tanjungpura University 5
grade become the population, which are 359 respondents. Ninety
respondents were choosen as a sample by stratified random sampling
method. Primary data were collected by questionnaires. The data were
analyzed by SPSS 17.
Result. This research from 90 respondents found that, there were 12
respondents (13,33%) had a good knowledge level, 53 respondents (58,89%)
had a moderate knowledge level and 25 respondents (27,78%) had a bad
knowledge level. All respondents (100%) agreed with breast self-examination.
Conclusion. Level of female student’s knowledge and attitude in Faculty of
Medicine at Tanjungpura University mostly was in the moderate category.
