HUBUNGAN ANTARA PERILAKU MEROKOK TERHADAP KADAR KOLESTEROL LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN (LDL) SERUM PADA PEKERJA CV. JULIAN PRATAMA PONTIANAK
Abstract
Background : Increasing number of smoker is related to increasingnumber of negative effect for health. Cigarette smoking is a major risk
factor for the development and progression of cardiovascular disease.
Smoking behaviour affect lipid profile, including Low Density Lipoprotein
(LDL) level. Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate the
association between smoking habit, duration of smoking habit, number of
cigarette per day, and cigarette type based on filter presence, to LDL level
among workers at CV. Julian Pratama Pontianak. Methods : This
research was analytical study with cross sectional design. There were 40
subjects chosen as research samples with simple random sampling
method, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data of smoking
behaviour was obtained by using questionnaire. LDL level was measured
by presipitate method. Results : LDL level in smoker group was higher
than non smokers group, but in statistical analysis showed that there were
no significant association between smoking habit and LDL level (p=0,076).
There were significant association between duration of smoking habit
(p=0,037), number of cigarette per day (p=0,003), and cigarette type
(p=0,044) to LDL level among workers in CV. Julian Pratama Pontianak.
Conclusion : There is no significant association between smoking habit
and LDL level among workers in CV. Julian Pratama Pontianak. Duration
of smoking habit, number of cigarette per day, and cigarette type show
significant association to LDL level.
Keywords : Smoking habit, Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL)
