GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP WARIA TENTANG INFEKSI MENULAR SEKSUAL DI KOTA PONTIANAK TAHUN 2014

Abstract

Background: sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) remain as a
current health problem, affecting both social and economic sectors in
various countries.STIs. Sexual behavior of tranvetite group had high
impact to spreading of STIs because their sexual relation generally
have   high risk   because   often   flitting   of   couple. Objective: the
research aimed to find out the level of knowledge and attitude of
transsexual in Pontianak city towards STis. Method: the research was
descriptive and was conducted with cross-sectional approach survey
method. The research population was the entire . A total of 55 samples
were collected. Sampling was conducted through concecutive
sampling technique. Data was collected using questionnaires and then
analyzed by using descriptive statistic method. Results: the result of
study show that the level of knowledge and and attitude towards STIs
is categorized as sufficient. Conclusion: Therefore, as shown in the
result of the study, it is trongly recommended that both the Health
Service and community could work together in educating the students
regarding STIs issue as well as sex education concurrently.
