PEMBUATAN BIOETANOL MENGUNAKAN Zymomonas mobilis DARI LIMBAH TONGKOL JAGUNG
Abstract
Bioetanol adalah cairan yang dihasilkan dari proses fermentasi gula dari sumber karbohidrat menggunakan bantuan mikroorganisme. Sampel tongkol jagung didelignifikasi terlebih dahulu menggunakan NaOH 10% selama 28jam, yang kemudian dihidrolisis menggunakan HClO4 30%. Kemudian sampel di fermentasi dengan mikroorganisme Z. mobilis menggunakan variasi pH 4, 5, dan 6 kemudian dengan waktu 4 hari, 5 hari, dan 6 hari. Kondisi optimum hasil fermentasi adalah dengan pH 5 dan pada hari ke-5. Pada kondisi optimum tersebut diperoleh randemen etanol sebesar 20% dan dengan kadar 100% yang diukur menggunakan alkoholmeter dan kromatografi gas-spektroskopi massa.
