PENURUNAN KONSENTRASI BAHAN ORGANIK DAN BESI DALAM AIR GAMBUT DENGAN METODE UV-OZON
Abstract
Air gambut berwarna merah kecoklatan yang disebabkan adanya kandungan bahan organik dan besi dalam jumlah yang tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menurunkan konsentrasi bahan organik dan besi dalam air gambut dengan metode UV-Ozon terhadap variasi waktu kontak serta mengetahui konsentrasi sisa ozon yang digunakan selama proses UV-Ozon. Hasil yang diperoleh untuk penurunan konsentrasi bahan organik air gambut sebagai bilangan permanganat sebesar 53,46% pada waktu kontak 3 jam, sedangkan penurunan konsentrasi besi terlarut (Fe2+) air gambut sebesar 67,01% pada waktu kontak 4 jam, serta konsentrasi sisa ozon sebesar 0,015 mg/L pada waktu kontak 5 jam. Dengan demikian dapat diketahui bahwa konsentrasi bahan organik dan besi air gambut dapat diturunkan secara advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) dengan metode UV-Ozon.
