UJI DAYA HAMBAT FRAKSI SISA DARI DESTILASI FRAKSIONASI MINYAK ATSIRI DAUN UJUNG ATAP (Baeckea frutescens L.) TERHADAP BAKTERI Streptococcus mutans
Abstract
Baeckea frutescens L. atau ujung atap adalah tanaman tropis yang sering dijadikan sebagai tanaman hias dan dapat digunakan sebagai obat terhadap beberapa penyakit. Di Indonesia tanaman ini dapat dijumpai di pulau Kalimantan, Sumatera, Jawa, dan Sulawesi. Pemisahan komponen minyak atsiri Baeckea frutecens L. telah dilakukan dengan metode destilasi fraksionasi. Hasil pemisahan diperoleh fraksi D (sisa proses fraksionasi) berwarna kuning kecoklatan dengan % rendemen sebesar 31,51% (v/v) dan densitas 0,901 g/mL. Komponen kimia fraksi D minyak atsiri Baeckea frutescens L. dianalisis menggunakan GC-MS menunjukkan ada 3 macam komponen utama fraksi D yaitu terdiri dari 1,8-Sineol (21,04%), p-Simena (14,55%), dan α-Humulena (8,64%). Hasil uji daya hambat fraksi D (sisa) terhadap bakteri Streptococcus mutans diperoleh konsentrasi hambat minimum (KHM) sebesar 0,625% (v/v) dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat sebesar 1,77 mm bersifat bakteriostatik.
