KARAKTERISASI MINYAK ATSIRI DAUN SALAM (Syzygium polyanthum Wight) ASAL KALIMANTAN BARAT DENGAN METODE DESTILASI UAP
Abstract
Syzygium polyanthum (salam) merupakan salah satu spesies dari famili Myrtaceae yang digunakan sebagai obat tradisional dan bumbu masakan terutama di daerah Asia Tenggara. Daun salam mempunyai banyak kandungan kimia terutama minyak atsiri. Isolasi minyak atsiri daun salam telah dilakukan dengan metode destilasi uap. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui rendemen minyak atsiri daun salam dan karakterisasi komponen kimia yang terkandung dalam minyak atsiri daun salam yang berasal dari Kalimantan Barat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, rendemen minyak atsiri daun salam yang diperoleh sebesar 0,16%. Analisis kandungan senyawa minyak atsiri menggunakan GC-MS diperoleh 31 senyawa dari minyak atsiri (S. polyanthum) yaitu humulen oksida (13,11%), (-)-kariofilen oksida (12,01%), cis-4-dekanal (10,54%), α-humulen (10,51%), n-dekanal (8,94%) dan α-kopaen (8,16%).
