Persepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Keberadaan Perusahaan Kelapa Sawit Dalam Penggunaan Lahan Berhutan Di Dusun Lape Kecamatan Kapuas Kabupaten Sanggau

Abstract

The entry of oil palm companies is expected to increase the income and welfare of the pople around the forest, especially the hamlet of lape. The purpose of this study was to describe the perceptions of forest communities regarding oil palm plantations, to analyze the factors that influence people's perceptions of social, economic and environmental changes due to the presence of oil palm plantations and to describe the actions taken by the community towards the impact of oil palm plantations in Lape Hamlet Kapuas District Sanggau Regency. The method used is a survey with purposive sampling and interview techniques. The number of samples in this study was 177 respondents who were living/domiciled in Lape Hamlet. Data analysis consisted of public perceptions, the relationship between public perceptions of knowledge level, income level and education level. The results of this study indicate that there are significant differences in the perceptions of the people of Lape Hamlet towards the existence of oil palm companies in the use of forested land and 54% of the people tend to have a positive perception. There is a positive and insignificant relationship between the level of knowledge and community perception, meaning that the community knows that so the contribution of oil palm companies in improving the social, economic and environmental conditions of the Lape Hamlet community, however, can give the opposite perception. There is a negative and significant relationship between income level and public perception. There is a positive and insignificant relationship between education level and public perception. Keywords: Lape Hamlet, Community, Perception, Palm Oil Company Abstrak Masuknya perusahaan kelapa sawit diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat di sekitar hutan khususnya di Dusun Lape. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan persepsi masyarakat sekitar hutan mengenai perkebunan kelapa sawit, menganalisis faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi masyarakat terhadap perubahan sosial, ekonomi dan lingkungan akibat keberadaan perkebunan kelapa sawit dan mendeskripsikan tindakan yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat terhadap dampak dari perkebunan kelapa sawit di Dusun Lape Kecamatan Kapuas Kabupaten sanggau. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei, pengambilan data dengan wawancara, penentuan responden secara Purposive Sampling dengan rumus Slovin. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini 177 responden adalah masyarakat yang bertempat tinggal/berdomisili di Dusun Lape. Analisis data terdiri dari persepsi masyarakat, hubungan persepsi masyarakat terhadap tingkat pengetahuan, tingkat pendapatan dan tingkat pendidikan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan persepsi masyarakat Dusun Lape signifikan terhadap keberadaan perusahaan kelapa sawit dalam penggunaan lahan berhutan dan 54% masyarakat cenderung memiliki persepsi positif. Terdapat hubungan yang positif dan tidak signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan persepsi masyarakat, artinya masyarakat mengetahui bahwa selama ini kontribusi perusahaan kelapa sawit dalam meningkatkan kondisi sosial, ekonomi dan lingkungan masyarakat dusun lape, namun dapat memberikan persepsi yang sebaliknya. Terdapat hubungan negatif dan signifikan antara tingkat pendapatan dengan persepsi masyarakat. Terdapat hubungan yang positif dan tidak signifikan antara tingkat pendidikan dengan persepsi masyarakat. Kata kunci: Dusun Lape, Masyarakat, Persepsi, Perusahaan Kelapa Sawit
