PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP PERTAMBANGAN EMAS TANPA IZIN DI KAWASAN HUTAN SEKUNDER DESA NYANGGAI KECAMATAN PINOH SELATAN KABUPATEN MELAWI

Abstract

Melawi Regency is one of the areas that have gold mining potential in West Kalimantan. Legally there are two types of mining, namely official mining and informal mining. One of the villages that has gold mining activities without a permit is Nyanggai Village, South Pinoh District. Gold mining activities without permits have a negative impact on the environment, namely causing forest damage, but gold mining witout permits also has a positive impact on the economy. This of course raises the perception of the perceptionof the community around the forest of Nyanggai Village. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the secondary forest area of Nyanggai Village. The purpose of this study was to determine public perception and analyze the relationship between age level, income level, knowledge level and cosmopolitan with public perception of gold mining without a permit in the secondary forest area of Nyanggai Village. The benefit of this research is to know the public perception. the method used is a survey method with interview techniques with purposive sampling/respondent sampling. The results of this study were 70 respondents (82,86%) had a positive perception, 11 respodents (15,71%) had a neutral perception, and 1 respondent (1,43%) had a negative perception. There is a significant relationship between knowledge and age factors, but there is no relationship between cosmopolitan factors, education, income and community perceptions of gold mining without permits in secondary forest areas.

Abstrak

Kabupaten Melawi merupakan salah satu daerah yang mempunyai potensi tambang emas di Kalimantan Barat. Pertambangan secara hukum ada dua jenis yaitu pertambangan resmi dan pertambangan tidak resmi. Salah satu desa yang terdapat aktifitas pertambangan emas tanpa izin adalah Desa Nyanggai Kecamatan Pinoh Selatan. Kegiatan pertambangan emas tanpa izin memberikan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan yaitu menyebabkan kerusakan hutan, namun pertambangan emas tanpa izin juga memberikan dampak positif dibidang ekonomi. Hal ini tentu saja menimbulkan persepsi masyarakat sekitar hutan Desa Nyanggai. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang kajian persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan pertambangan emas tanpa izin di kawasan hutan sekunder Desa Nyanggai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi masyarakat dan menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat umur, tingkat pendapatan, tingkat pengetahuan dan kosmopolitan dengan persepsi masyarakat terhadap pertambangan emas tanpa izin dikawasan hutan sekunder Desa Nyanggai. Manfaat penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui persepsi masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode survey dengan teknik wawancara dengan pengambilan sampel/responden secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini pada 70 responden yaitu (82,86%) persepsi positif, 11 responden (15,71%) memiliki persepsi netral, dan 1 responden (1,43%) memiliki persepsi negatif. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara faktor pengetahuan dan umur, namun tidak terdapat hubungan antara faktor kosmopolitan, pendidikan, pendapatan terhadap persepsi masyarakat terhadap pertambangan emas tanpa izin di kawasan hutan sekunder.
