PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP KEBERADAAN KAWASAN HUTAN MANGROVE DI DESA SEBUBUS KECAMATAN PALOH KABUPATEN SAMBAS

The interaction that occurs between the community and the existence of mangrove forest areas results in public perception of the existence of mangrove forests. The aim of this study is to examine public perceptions of the existence of mangrove forest areas, analyze the relationship between community perceptions of the existence of mangrove forest areas with the level of knowledge, the level of dependence on mangrove forests, and the level of household income of the people of Sebubus Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency. The method is a survey method that uses questionnaire filling by respondents. Sampling using purposive sampling. The obtained data will be analyzed qualitatively, described in descriptive form, and then tested using the Kendall Tau Correlation Non-Parametric statistical test. The results of the study showed public perception of the existence of mangrove forest areas in Sebubus Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency mostly (49.44%) tends to be neutral, there is a positive and significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the community's perception of the existence of the mangrove forest area in Sebubus Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency, there is a positive and insignificant relationship between the level of community dependence on mangrove forests and community perceptions of the existence of mangrove forest areas in Sebubus Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency, and there is a negative and insignificant relationship between the level of household income and the community's perception of the existence of a mangrove forest area in Sebubus Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency.

Interaksi antara masyarakat dan keberadaan kawasan hutan mangrove mengakibatkan timbulnya persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan hutan mangrove tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan kawasan hutan mangrove, menganalisis hubungan antara persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan kawasan hutan mangrove dengan tingkat pengetahuan, tingkat ketergantungan terhadap hutan mangrove, dan tingkat pendapatan rumah tangga masyarakat desa Sebubus Kecamatan Paloh Kabupaten Sambas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey yang menggunakan pengisian kuisioner oleh responden. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan cara purposive sampling. Data yang telah diperoleh akan dianalisis secara kualitatif serta diuraikan dalam bentuk deskriptif dan kemudian dilakukan Pengujian menggunakan Uji statistik Non Parametrik Korelasi Kendall Tau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan kawasan hutan mangrove di Desa Sebubus Kecamatan Paloh Kabupaten Sambas sebagian besar (49,44 %) cenderung netral, terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan kawasan hutan mangrove di Desa Sebubus Kecamatan Paloh Kabupaten Sambas, terdapat hubungan positif dan tidak signifikan antara tingkat ketergantungan masyarakat terhadap hutan mangrove dengan persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan kawasan hutan mangrove di Desa Sebubus Kecamatan Paloh Kabupaten Sambas, dan terdapat hubungan negatif dan tidak signifikan antara tingkat pendapatan rumah tangga dengan persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan kawasan hutan mangrove di Desa Sebubus Kecamatan Paloh Kabupaten Sambas.
