PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP KEBERADAAN HUTAN LINDUNG GUNUNG NANING DI DESA SEBABAS KECAMATAN NANGA MAHAP KABUPATEN SEKADAU

 W.WIRO BELO. Public Perception of the Existence of Protected Forests in Sebabas   Village, Nanga Mahap District, Sekadau Regency. Guided by H A ORAMAHI as the first supervisor and H GUSTI HARDIANSYAH as the second supervisor.

Forest village communities are a group of people who live in or around the forest. Most of the forest village communities depend their lives on the forest resources around them to meet economic needs. However, some of the forest village communities in Indonesia are still unable to manage the forests around them properly, which is what causes the lack of community knowledge about the function of the forest itself. Public perception of the existence of protected forests in Sebabas village of Nanga Mahap district, Sekadau regency, analyzing the relationship between age, knowledge and cosmopolitan levels with community perceptions, This research uses a survey method by means of interviews and questionnaire assistance and sampling using the slovin formula with a total sample of 70 households and community criteria that will be used as respondents by purposive sampling, The research variable uses a likert scale score that is high if the score is above 3.5 medium if the score is between 2.5-3.5 and the low score is below 2.5, data analysis uses descriptive analysis. The results of data observations showed that as many as 13 respondents (18.57%) with high categories, as many as 55 respondents (78.57%) with medium categories and as many as 2 respondents (2.86%) with low categories. There is a positive and insignificant relationship between age level and societal perception and there is a positive and significant relationship between knowledge and cosmopolitan levels and community perceptions.

W.WIRO BELO. Persepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Keberadaan Hutan Lindung Gunung Naning   di Desa Sebabas Kecamatan Nanga Mahap Kabupaten Sekadau. Dibimbing oleh H A ORAMAHI selaku dosen pembimbing pertama dan H GUSTI HARDIANSYAH selaku dosen pembimbing kedua.

Masyarakat desa hutan merupakan sekumpulan orang yang tinggal di dalam atau sekitar hutan. Kebanyakan dari masyarakat desa hutan menggantungkan kehidupannya pada sumber daya hutan yang ada di sekitar mereka untuk memenuhi kebutuhan ekonomi. Namun sebagian dari masyarakat desa hutan di Indonesia masih belum bisa mengelola hutan di sekitar mereka dengan baik hal ini lah yang menyebabkan kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap fungsi dari hutan itu sendiri. Persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan hutan lindung di Desa Sebabas Kecamatan Nanga Mahap Kabupaten Sekadau, menganalisis hubungan tingkat umur,pengetahuan dan kosmopolitan dengan persepsi masyarakat, Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan cara wawancara dan bantuan kuisioner dan pengambilan sample menggunakan rumus slovin dengan jumlah sample 70 kk dan Kriteria masyarakat yang akan dijadikan responden secara purposive sampling, variabel penelitian menggunakan skor skala likert yaitu tinggi jika skor di atas 3.5 sedang jika skor antara 2.5-3.5 dan rendah skor di bawah 2.5, analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil pengamatan data menunjukan bahwa sebanyak 13 responden (18,57%) dengan kategori tinggi, sebanyak 55 responden (78,57%) dengan kategori sedang dan sebanyak 2 responden (2,86%) dengan kategori rendah. Terdapat hubungan positif dan tidak signifikan untuk tingkat umur dengan persepsi masyarakat dan terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dan kosmopolitan dengan persepsi masyarakat.
