PERUBAHAN LUAS HUTAN MANGROVE KECAMATAN SUNGAI PINYUH, KABUPATEN MEMPAWAH TAHUN 2014, 2018 DAN 2022

Abstract

The Sungai Pinyuh Sub-district, situated under the jurisdiction of Mempawah Regency, boasts a considerable expanse of mangrove forest. This type of forest thrives along the border between land and sea, a characteristic that holds true for Sungai Pinyuh's mangrove forest as well. The aim of this research is to comprehend changes in the extent of the mangrove forest in the Sungai Pinyuh Sub-district during the years 2014, 2018, and 2022. This research employs remote sensing techniques, involving visual interpretation and classification of imagery obtained from the Landsat 8 OLI and TIRS sensors. Between 2014 and 2018, there was a deforestation of the mangrove forest in the Sungai Pinyuh Sub-district, Mempawah Regency, amounting to 9.75 hectares. The village that underwent the most significant deforestation during this period was Sungai Purun Kecil Village, with a loss of 21.66 hectares of mangrove coverage. On the other hand, from 2018 to 2022, there are visible efforts to restore the mangrove forest areas in the Sungai Pinyuh Sub-district, Mempawah Regency, resulting in an increase of 6.75 hectares. The most active village in terms of mangrove restoration during the period 2018 to 2022 is Peniraman Village, contributing an increase of 15.86 hectares. Overall, over the span of eight years from 2014 to 2022, there was a deforestation of the mangrove forest in the Sungai Pinyuh Sub-district, Mempawah Regency, totaling 3.00 hectares. This decrease in secondary mangrove forest area is attributed to land use changes. However, concurrently, there are efforts to restore secondary mangrove forests, driven by initiatives from the local government, community groups, and local residents in their commitment to safeguard and rehabilitate the mangrove forest.

Abstrak

Kecamatan Sungai Pinyuh, yang terletak di bawah naungan Kabupaten Mempawah, memiliki kawasan hutan mangrove yang cukup luas. Hutan jenis ini tumbuh di tepi perbatasan daratan dan laut, dan hal tersebut juga berlaku di hutan mangrove Sungai Pinyuh. Tujuan dari riset ini adalah untuk mengetahui perubahan luas hutan mangrove di Kecamatan Sungai Pinyuh pada tahun 2014, 2018, dan 2022. Metode penelitian ini memanfaatkan teknik penginderaan jauh, dengan melakukan interpretasi visual dan klasifikasi terhadap citra dari sensor Landsat 8 OLI dan TIRS. Dalam kurun waktu dari tahun 2014 hingga 2018, terjadi deforestasi hutan mangrove di Kecamatan Sungai Pinyuh, Kabupaten Mempawah, dengan luas mencapai 9,75 hektar. Desa yang mengalami deforestasi mangrove terbesar dalam rentang waktu tersebut adalah Desa Sungai Purun Kecil, mencapai 21,66 hektar. Sementara itu, antara tahun 2018 hingga 2022, terlihat upaya restorasi kawasan hutan mangrove di Kecamatan Sungai Pinyuh, Kabupaten Mempawah, dengan penambahan luas mencapai 6,75 hektar. Desa yang paling aktif dalam upaya restorasi mangrove dalam periode 2018 hingga 2022 adalah Desa Peniraman, dengan penambahan luas mencapai 15,86 hektar. Secara keseluruhan, selama delapan tahun dari tahun 2014 hingga 2022, terjadi deforestasi hutan mangrove di Kecamatan Sungai Pinyuh, Kabupaten Mempawah, sebanyak 3,00 hektar. Penurunan luas hutan mangrove sekunder ini disebabkan oleh perubahan penggunaan lahan. Namun, di sisi lain, terjadi upaya restorasi hutan mangrove sekunder, sebagai hasil dari inisiatif dari pemerintah daerah, kelompok masyarakat, dan warga setempat dalam menjaga dan memulihkan hutan mangrove.
