Abstract

The BPDAS Kapuas nursery has not been able to provide quality seedlings in sufficient quantities and on time, so it is necessary to accelerate the growth of seedlings so as to be able to meet the demand for seedlings for the community and Forest and Land Rehabilitation (RHL) planting program activities. The objective of the study was to obtain the optimal concentration of liquid coconut shell smoke in increasing the growth of jengkol seedlings and producing quality seedlings. The research was conducted at the BPDAS Kapuas Permanent Nursery. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) experimental method consisting of 5 treatments (control, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%) with 15 replications. Data collected were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, sturdiness, shoot-root ratio, and seedling quality index. Based on the results of the study, the application of coconut shell liquid smoke to jengkol seedlings for 12 weeks showed that the 2.5% concentration treatment had an optimal effect on increasing the growth of jengkol seedlings in the form of height, number of leaves, and stem diameter. The treatment of liquid coconut shell smoke with a concentration of 1.5% has an optimal effect on the physical quality of jengkol seedlings with the value of sturdiness and the value of root shoot ratio, while the treatment of 2.5% concentration has an optimal effect on the quality index value of seedlings.

Abstrak

Persemaian BPDAS Kapuas belum bisa menyediakan bibit berkualitas dalam jumlah yang cukup dan tepat waktu, untuk itu perlu adanya percepatan pertumbuhan bibit, sehingga mampu memenuhi permintaan bibit untuk masyarakat dan kegiatan program penanaman Rehabilitasi Hutan dan Lahan (RHL). Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi pemberian asap cair tempurung kelapa yang optimal dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan semai jengkol dan menghasilkan bibit yang berkualitas. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Persemaian Permanen BPDAS Kapuas. Penelitian menggunakan metode percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan (kontrol 1%, 1,5%, 2%, 2,5%) dengan 15 ulangan. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, kekokohan, rasio pucuk akar, dan indeks mutu bibit. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pemberian asap cair tempurung kelapa pada semai jengkol selama 12 minggu menunjukan bahwa dengan perlakuan konsentrasi 2,5% berpengaruh secara optimal untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan semai jengkol berupa tinggi, jumlah daun, dan diameter batang. Perlakuan asap cair tempurung kelapa konsentrasi 1,5% berpengaruh secara optimal terhadap mutu fisik bibit semai jengkol dengan nilai kekokohan dan nilai rasio pucuk akar, sedangkan perlakuan konsentrasi 2,5% berpengaruh secara optimal terhadap nilai indeks mutu bibit.
