IDENTIFIKASI JENIS SEMUT DI KEBUN KARET DUSUN SANGKU DESA PANCAROBA KECAMATAN SUNGAI AMBAWANG KABUPATEN KUBU RAYA

Abstract

Kebun karet di Dusun Sangku Desa Pancaroba Kecamatan Sungai Ambawang Kabupaten Kubu Raya adalah satu kawasan yang menjadi habitat semut, namun belum diketahui jenis semut apa saja yang menyerang kebun karet tersebut. Tujuan penelitian adalah melakukan identifikasi jenis semut yang menyerang kebun karet di Dusun Sangku Desa Pancaroba Kecamatan Sungai Ambawang Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan survey pada kebun karet Dusun Sangku dengan plot. Penentuan lokasi plot ditetapkan secara purposive sampling dengan pertimbangan banyak ditemukan jenis-jenis semut. Jalur survey sepanjang 100 × 20 meter sebanyak lima jalur. Masing-masing jalur dibagi menjadi 5 plot. Masing-masing plot dibuat 5 sub plot untuk pemasangan pitfall trap dengan ukuran plot 20m×20m dan sub plot 2m×2m. Semut di lokasi penelitian diperoleh dengan cara metode pitfall trap menggunakan gelas plastik berdiameter ± 7 cm dan tinggi ± 10 cm yang ¼ bagiannya diisi dengan larutan gula merah secukupnya, sehingga semut yang terperangkap tenggelam dan mati. Satu sub plot dipasang sebanyak 1 trap sehingga diperoleh 25 botol koleksi semut pada pagi hari dan 25 botol pada sore hari untuk semua habitat. Pengambilan sampel semut dilakukan pada pagi dan sore hari selama 3 hari untuk satu   plot pengamatan. Semut hasil koleksi kemudian diidentifikasi menggunakan buku identifikasi semut. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 832 individu semut yang terdiri dari 6 spesies yaitu Oecophylla smaragdina, Polyrhachis aspasia, Camponotus autrani, Camponotus melanus, Prenolepis naoroji,.

ABSTRACT

The rubber plantation in Sangku Hamlet, Pancaroba Village, Sungai Ambawang District, Kubu Raya Regency is an area of ant habitat, but it is not yet known what types of ants attack the rubber plantation. The aim of the study was to identify the types of ants that attack the rubber plantations in Sangku Hamlet, Pancaroba Village, Sungai Ambawang District, Kubu Raya Regency. The research method was carried out by surveying the

rubber plantations in Dusun Sangku with plots. Plot locations were determined by purposive sampling with the consideration that many types of ants were found. The survey path is 100 × 20 meters long and consists of five lanes. Each path is divided into 5 plots. Each plot has 5 sub-plots for installing pitfall traps with a plot size of 20m×20m and a sub-plot of 2m×2m. The ants at the study site were obtained using the pitfall trap method using a plastic cup with a diameter of ± 7 cm and a height of ± 10 cm, filled ¼ of the way with sufficient brown sugar solution, so that the trapped ants drowned and died. One sub-plot was installed with 1 trap so that 25 bottles of ant collection were obtained in the morning and 25 bottles in the afternoon for all habitats. Ant sampling was carried out in the morning and evening for 3 days for one observation plot. The collected ants were then identified using an ant identification book.
