Abstract

Penjalaan Village Forest includes the peat swamp production forest area designated as Simpang Keramat Village forest through the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number. 708/ MENLHK-PSKL/PKPS/PSL.0/2/2017 Concerning the Granting of Village Forest Management Rights with an area of 376 hectares containing white-bearded gibbons (Hylobates albibarbis). According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the white-bearded gibbon is included in the Endangered category, while according to Conservation on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), the white-bearded gibbon is included in the Appendix I list and cannot be bought and sold. internationally. The aim of this research is to record population numbers and population density. This research uses a survey method, by creating a 100 m observation path (50 m left and 50 m right), a path length of 1000 m with 4 observation paths with 2 repetitions on each path. The direction of the route is from Southwest-Northeast, observations are carried out in the morning from 05.30 to 7.30 WIB followed by 15.00 to 17.00 WIB. From the total observation route, a population of 14 individuals was obtained with a population density of 0.04 individuals/ hectares
