PROPORSI PENAMBAHAN MEDIA TANAM COCOPEAT, ARANG SEKAM PADI DAN GAMBUT TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT MAHONI (Swietenia mahagoni) DI PERSEMAIAN PERMANEN RPH SADANIANG

Abstract

Using cocopeat growing media with top soil has problems in growing the diameter and height of the seedlings because it has deficiencies in the cocopeat media. The next research carried out was to use organic materials in the form of rice husk charcoal, cocopeat and peat as a growing medium for seedlings. The aim of the research was to test the proportion of top soil, cocopeat, rice husk charcoal and peat planting media on the growth of mahogany seedlings in the permanent nursery of the Sadaniang RPH. The research was carried out at the Sadaniang RPH Permanent Nursery for 8 weeks. The experimental method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with treatment factors consisting of 6 levels, namely M1 (top soil + cocopeat = 2:3), M2 (top soil + peat = 2:2), M3 (top soil + cocopeat + charcoal rice husk = 2:4:3), M4 (top soil + cocopeat + peat = 2:3:4), M5 (top soil + cocopeat + peat + husk charcoal rice = 2:2:3:4), M6 (top soil + rice husk charcoal + peat = 2:4:4), each with five replications. Measurements of plant height, diameter and number of leaves were carried out once every week. The results of this research were that there was no real effect on all treatments, based on the trend of mean values for height, diameter and number of leaves. Treatment M6 with a better average trend for growth in height and number of leaves with values of 13.6 cm and 3.8 strands, while M1 has a better trend value for increasing diameter, namely with a value of 1.18 mm.

Abstrak

Penggunaan media tumbuh cocopeat dengan top soil mempunyai masalah dalam pertumbuhan diameter dan tinggi bibit karena mempunyai kekurangan pada media cocopeat. Penelitian yang dilakukan selanjutnya adalah memanfaatkan bahan organik


berupa arang sekam padi, cocopeat, dan gambut sebagai media tumbuh bagi bibit. Tujuan penelitian untuk menguji proporsi media tanam top soil, cocopeat, arang sekam padi, dan gambut terhadap pertumbuhan bibit mahoni di persemaian permanen RPH Sadaniang. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Pembibitan Permanen RPH Sadaniang selama 8 minggu. Metode percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor perlakuan terdiri dari 6 taraf, yaitu M1 (top soil + cocopeat = 2:3), M2 (top soil + gambut = 2:2), M3 (top soil + cocopeat + arang sekam padi = 2:4:3), M4 (top soil + cocopeat + gambut = 2:3:4), M5 (top soil + cocopeat + gambut + arang sekam padi = 2:2:3:4), M6 (top soil + arang sekam padi + gambut = 2:4:4), masing-masing dengan lima ulangan. Pengukuran tinggi tanaman, diameter, dan jumlah daun dilakukan setiap 1 minggu sekali. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat pengaruh yang nyata terhadap semua perlakuan, berdasarkan tren rerata nilai tinggi, diameter, dan jumlah daun. Perlakuan M6 dengan tren rerata lebih baik untuk pertumbuhan tinggi dan jumlah daun dengan nilai 13,6 cm dan 3,8 Helai, sedangkan M1 merupakan nilai tren lebih baik terhadap pertambahan diameter yaitu dengan nilai 1,18 mm.
