Persepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Keberadaan Rumah Walet Di Kelurahan Siantan Hulu Kecamatan Pontianak Utara

Abstract

Indonesia is currently the largest producer and exporter of swallow's nest in the world. More than 75% of the world's swallow nests come from Indonesia. In Siantan Hulu Village, Pontianak City, there are several swallow houses that are not in accordance with the ideal development for swallows because they are close to residential areas. The purpose of this study was to determine the public perception of the existence of swiftlet houses in Siantan Hulu, North Pontianak District. This research method is a survey, data collection by interview, determining respondents by purposive sampling. The population sampled in this study were 59 heads of families in Siantan Hulu Village. Based on the results of the study, the public perception is in the negative category towards the existence of swiftlet houses in Siantan Hulu Village, North Pontianak District with a percentage of 64%. Keywords: Perception, Swiftlet House, Siantan Hulu Abstrak Saat ini Indonesia merupakan produsen dan pengekspor sarang walet terbesar di dunia. Mencapai lebih dari 75% yang beredar di dunia berasal dari Indonesia. Di Kelurahan Siantan Hulu Kota Pontianak terdapat beberapa rumah walet yang tidak sesuai dengan pembangunan yang ideal untuk burung walet karena berdekatan dengan pemukiman masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan rumah walet di Siantan Hulu Kecamatan Pontianak Utara. Metode penelitian ini adalah survey, pengambilan data dengan wawancara, penentuan responden secara purposive sampling. Populasi yang dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 59 kepala keluarga di Kelurahan Siantan Hulu. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa persepsi masyarakat berada pada kategori negatif terhadap keberadaan rumah walet di Kelurahan Siantan Hulu Kecamatan Pontianak Utara dengan persentase 64%.
