Abstract

An off-label drug is a drug that is not prescribed under official drug information, including patient age, drug indications did not match with the marketing authorization, dosage, and route of administration are not appropriate. The population of children is at risk of getting off-label medication because of its particular condition. This study was conducted to determine the percentage of offlabel drug use indication in pediatric patients age 5-12 at the general hospital Pontianak City Area. This study uses an observational method that is descriptive. The total number of patients who used off-label google form drugs was 36 patients. The assessment was done using the Drug Information Handbook (DIH) 2012, MIMS Indonesia 2017, ISO. The results of this study showed that off-label drug use was found in categories indication 26.1%, categories age 10.21%, categories dose 4.54%. Based on this studys results, we found that the use of off-label drugs in children is relatively high compared with previous research data so that supervision-related risks of drug use need to be done.
