CITRA LELAKI DALAM NOVEL BUMI CINTA KARYA HABIBURRAHMAN EL SHIRAZY

Abstract

The general problemof the research is to analyze a man’s character in Bumi Cinta. The specific problem is to analyze a man’s character physically and non-physically according to what the man experience in the sequences of event in the story. This research used descriptive method in qualitative form. The research purpose is to describe a man’s physical and non-physical characteristics. The research found that the physical characteristics of the man are good-looking, strong, tall, thin and neat; and he has black hair, and soft eyes.The non-physical characteristics of the man are religious, nice, patient, usually has bad thinking of other people, do everything carefully, responsible, principled, can’t control himself if he meets a beautiful lady, and love his girlfriend.This research is hopefully can be a useful resource for educational institution.  In addition, the teacher should pay attention to the literature teaching, particularly teaching characters in a novel.For learners, the research will be useful for controlling their behaviors. Moreover, other researchers hopefully are recommended to analyze other perspectives using other approaches, beside structural approach.

Abstrak:Masalah umum yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah citra lelaki yang terdapat dalam Bumi Cinta? Submasalah: Bagaimanakah citra fisik dan nonfisik lelaki dilihat dari peristiwa yang dialami tokoh utama?.Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif, berbentuk kualitatif.Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan citra fisik dan citra nonfisik lelaki. Hasil penelitian: citra fisik tokoh utamameliputi wajah yang tampan, tubuh yang gagah, tinggi, rambut bewarna hitam,bermata teduh, dan berpenampilan rapi. Citra nonfisik tokoh utamameliputi perilakutaat beragama, baik hati, sabar, selalu berprasangka buruk terhadap orang lain, hati-hati dalam bertindak, bertanggung jawab, berpendidikan, kuat memegang prinsip, lelaki yang tidak mampu menguasai dirinya sendiri,lemah menghadapi perempuan, dan penuh cinta kasih kepada kekasih.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berguna bagi lembaga pendidikan.Selain itu, pembelajaran sastra disekolah hendaknya menjadi perhatian oleh guru Bahasa Indonesia, terutama pembelajaran sastra yang berkaitan dengan citra yang terdapat dalam novel.Bagi peserta didik, hasil penelitian ini yang bersifat positif dapatdijadikan acuan dalam berperilaku.Bagipeneliti selanjutnya, diharapkan agarBumi Cinta ini lebih dapat digali lagi dari segi pendekatan lain selain pendekatan struktural.
