Abstract
Head of kindergarten as a leader who is very influential and determine the progress of formal education institutions should have the ability to administrate, have a high commitment, and flexible in carrying out their duties and head of kindergarten must have personality or traits and abilities and skills to lead an educational institution. Positive behavior of school principals can encourage, direct, and motivate all school members to work together in realizing school vision, mission and objectives. A Head of Kindergarten must have special skills in order to perform their duties properly and smoothly so that the educational goals will be achieved. A person's skill is called qualification. But researchers found the facts in the kindergarten in Pontianak City that the last education of kindergarten heads ranging from high school education to S2. S2 7.2%, D4 / S1 81.4% and D3 to below 11.4%. Based on these realities, it was found that there are some heads of kindergarten whose last education has not met the qualification standard as head of kindergarten in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations.
