Abstract
This research"™s aims is to probe student"™s misconception about force using Interview About Instance (IAI) technique in mother tongue at SD Negeri 04 Ketapang. This research used simple descriptive survey. Nine students of fifth-grade as samples were chosen using purposive sampling technique representing three distinct learning outcome groups about force. Data analyzed by comparing students"™ conception and scientists"™ conception to describe the form of students' misconception, and determined the amount of students' misconception. This research used 18 question indicators to probe student"™s misconception. All learning outcome categories believe that static object does not have force. Furthermore, total students"™ misconceptions on category high, medium, and low is relative same. Interview About Instances (IAI) technique in mother tongue can probe students' misconception. This research is expected to be reference for teachers to improve students"™ misconception.
