Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of career guidance on the interest of continuing education in students VIII grade 10 State Junior High School Pontianak.The method used is descriptive method with quantitative approach. The sample in this research is 49 students of class VIII. Data collection technique in this research is indirect communication technique with data collection tool that is questionnaire. Data analysis technique used is the percentage formula, product moment analysis danm coefficient of determination.the results of data analysis indicate that the career guidance provided by the supervising teacher on the students class VIII SMP Negeri 10 Pontianak reach 90% is the category "very good". While the interest to continue education reaches 83% which is in the category of "very good". the magnitude of influence obtained 68% means that career guidance provided by supervising teachers is one of the factors that influence the interest in continuing education.
