Abstract

Abstract

The background   of this research was the low results of student"™s writing. Especially summary writting. That was because   of the lack of skill and creativity of the teacher in choosing the good method and media in learning process. To solve that problem, increasing the result of student"™s writing is needed by applying the Cooperative   Integrated Reading and Composition. Based on the analysis, the problem of this research was how are the planning, implementation and learning result 0f summary writing by applying the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition. In line with that problem, the purpose of this research was describing the planning, implementation and summary writting learning result by applying the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition. The method of this research was descriptive method in classroom action research in qualitative form. There were three cyrcles in this research which was done in one meeting every cycles. There were four stage in every cycle, they are planning, acting, observing and reflecting in learning activity. The result of summary writting learning through Cooperative Integrade Reading and Composition could be seen in cycle 1,2, and   3. The average score of student in cycle 1 was 73,33 (which was categorized as good enough). The result in cycle 2 was 83,34 (good) then increased in cycle 3 with the average score 86,66 (very good).
