Abstract
The problem in this research is the lack of productive learners in producing a literary work especially descriptive essay. Lack of interest and reading habits become one of the factors inhibiting the creativity of learners to create literary works. Less interest in reading among students because learners get accustomed to get information and instant entertainment from television and gadgets and other technological advances that increasingly pamper humans. Therefore, this research aims to describe Descriptive Writing Skills by Applying TANDUR quantum teaching Thematic learning in the fourth grade of Al-Azhar Islamic Elementary School 21 Pontianak Southeast. By using direct observation method and qualitative approach, it is obtained that by applying TANDUR quantum teaching Thematic learning in fourth grade of Al-Azhar Islamic Elementary School 21 Pontianak Southeast can maximize the writing skill of students in fourth grade of Al-Azhar Islamic Elementary School 21 Pontianak Southeast . With a presentation of figures showing as many as 85% at the third meeting. Increased by 95% at the fourth meeting, then slightly down by 94% at the five meeting, but this decrease was not significant. While the implementation of learning models TANDUR in thematic learning can be implemented and followed well by learners.
