Abstract
This research is motivated by the desire to know the process of word formation in Malay dialect of Pontianak and to deepen linguistic science, especially in the field of morphology. This study is devoted to classify morphological processes in terms of shape, meaning and function. This study aims to (1) analyze and describe affixation in Malay dialect of Pontianak, (2) to analyze and describe reduplication in Malay dialect of Pontianak, and (3) to analyze and describe composition in Malay dialect of Pontianak.The results of this study found the first, affix in the Malay dialect Pontianak there are three kinds of prefixes, suffixes and confixs. The affixes in the prefixed form are seven; [ber], [ke-], [me-], [pe-], [te-] [after]. The found suffixes are three kinds; [-an], [-kan] dan [-øe]. The confix found there are five, that is; [be-an], [ke-an], [me-kan], [di-kan], and [se-øe]. Second, reduplication in Malay dialect Pontianak there are three kinds, namely reduplication overall, reduplikasi combined with affix and reduplikasi with phoneme changes.
