PENINGKATAN AKTIVITAS PEMBELAJARAN ILMU PENGETAHUAN ALAM DENGAN PENERAPAN METODE DEMONSTRASI DI KELAS II SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI 6 SUNGAI KUNYIT

Berdasarkan pengamatan di lapangan yaitu Sekolah Dasar Negeri 6 Sungai Kunyit Kabupaten Pontianak aktivitas belajar siswa pada pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam masih rendah. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari proses belajar mengajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam di kelas. Dari hal tersebut penulis mencoba mencari alternatif pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa khususnya pada pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam. Peneliti mencoba dengan penerapan metode demonstrasi untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa agar lebih menyenangkan.

Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Demonstrasi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas terhadap 9 orang siswa pada kelas II. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Pada setiap siklus dilaksanakan satu kali pertemuan . Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu Observasi Langsung dengan alat lembar observasi untuk siswa kemudian data diperoleh direduksi, disajikan dan disimpulkan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dengan penerapan Metode Demonstrasi pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam di Kelas II Sekolah Dasar Negeri 6 Sungai Kunyit yaitu pada aktivitas fisik dari siklus I Nilai rata – rata 9,14 %, dilanjutkan ke siklus II menjadi 16,06 %. Pada aktivitas mental dari siklus I nilai rata – rata 8,92 %, dan dilanjutkan ke siklus II sebesar 17,17 %. Pada aktivitas emosional dari siklus I rata rata nilai sebesar 1,18%,  kemudian pada  siklus II sebesar   50,8 % . Semula siswa yang kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran menjadi lebih aktif karena mereka senang terhadap pembelajaran dengan penerapan Metode Demonstrasi, siswa juga tampak antusias melakukan diskusi kelompok.Dengan dilanjutkan pada siklus II, maka aktivitas pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam di kelas II Sekolah Dasar Negeri 6 Sungai Kunyit dengan penerapan metode demonstrasi mengalami peningkatan dan mendapatkan kategori tinggi.

Abstract

Based of field observations in the primary School 6 Turmeric River Pontianak district student learning activities in the subjects of natural Sciences is still low. This can be seen from the learning process in the classroom Natural Sciences. From this study the authors tried to find alternatives that can improve student learning activities specifically of the method demonstration of student learning activities to make it more fun.

This research using the method of demonstration. This type of research is Classroom Action Research to 9 student un class II. Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles. At each cycle of the meeting held. Data collection techniques used are direct observation with tools for student observation sheet then reduced the data obtained, presented and concluded.

The results showed an increase in activity with a student demonstration on the application of the learning methods of Narutal Sciences in Class II River elementary School District 6 Turmeric is on physical activity from the first cycle average value of 9,14%, followed by the second cycle to be 16,06%. On the mental activity of the first cycle average value of 8,92 %, and continued into the second cycle of 17,17 %. At the emotional activity of the first cycle the average value of 1,18 %, then on the second cycle of 50,8 %. Initially students were less active in the learning becomes more active because they enjoy the learning with the application of the method demonstration, the students also seem enthusiastic group discoussions. With continued in the second cycle, the natural Sciences pembelajaran activity in class II Elementary School District 6 Turmeric River with the application of method to increase and get a demonstration of the high category.
