Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the students' concept of understanding on the subject matter of SMK. The method used in this research is descriptive method with survey research form, while the subject is 27 students of class XI SMKN 1 Sadaniang. The techniques used in data collection are written test techniques and direct communication. The research data shows that students' concept comprehension on the functional material varies. In the indicator re-state a concept of function belongs to very low category. Students are unable to fully reiterate the definition of function. In the indicator of classifying objects according to the properties of certain functions including very low categories, students are only able to classify one functional property. The indicators provide examples and not examples of functions including varied categories. And on the indicator presents the function of various forms of mathematical representation including varied categories. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded understanding of student concepts tend to be very low based on 4 indicators understanding the concept used.
