Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that affect student interest in the subjects of economy class X IPS MAN 1 Pontianak. The method used in this research is using qualitative research approach method. Sources of data in this study are teachers, and students / Class X IPS MAN 1 Pontianak which is amounted to 4 students. Data collection techniques are direct observation techniques, direct communication and documentary study techniques. While the data collection tool is the interview guide, the observation sheet (check list). Data processing techniques use reduction analysis techniques, data presentation and verification. The result of the research based on observation and interview data were analyzed and it was concluded that the cause of student's interest in economic subject is the factor (1) Curriculum used is the curriculum 2013, (2) Teachers have taught in accordance with expertise, (3) Means and Infrastructure owned is complete, and (4) Environment is the factor that most influence student interest in economic subject is student learning environment.
