Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the generic science skill by application the practical work method with diagram vee on them of students SMAN 1 Pontianak on thermochemical materials. Almost 36 students of XI grade MIA 5 SMAN 1 Pontianak were used as subject in this research. The form of research was pre-experiment design with one-shot case study design. Generic science skill assessment sheet was used as instrument research. The research results indicate that   that generic science skills of students entered in the skilled category with an average percentage of 73%. The percentage of generic science skills of students on skills of direct observation, skills of indirect observation, skills of symbolic language, skills awareness of scale, skills of   the law of causation, skills of logical consistency, and skills of mathematics modeling respectively are 87%, 89%, 85%, 54%, 69%, 94%, and 49%.
