Abstract

This research is aimed to overcome the misconception of the VIII grade students in SMPN 14 Pontianak in the pressure subject with LKPD generative assistance learning model. This study is pre-experimental design with one group pre-test post-test. This research involved 31 participants from VIII E class which was taken by intact group technique. Open "“ ended multiple choice questions was used as the data collection tool with 3 alternative choices in 9 questions. The analysis of the students misconception profile showed the highest misconception during pre-test (97,84%) and post-test (34,06%)   that is in the concept of determining the position of the stuff with the different mass when in the water. Based on the distribution of the learners"™ total number who experienced the misconception on pre-test and post-test, it was obtained the deviation"™s average in 72%. The change of conception based on the McNemar test is obtained X2calculation   > X2table   for db = 1 and α = 5% hence there was a significant change toward concept of pressure and the proportion"™s calculation of the misconception"™s result obtained the average of the effectiveness level in each concept is 73,20% (high category) . This research result is expected to be an alternative in effort of remediating the students"™ misconception.
