Abstract

Abstract

Interjection is the word used to express feelings. Interjection is used to increase the expression of the speech so that it can be understood better by others. This research focused on the use of interjection of Malay dialect Pontianak. Interjection of Malay dialect Pontianak which was found will be described by form, meaning, and function. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative research form. The sources of data in this research are transcription of Merawak video, Sepok book, Sepok Duak, Sepok Tige, Satria Biji Itam comic, and interview result. Techniques used in this research are techniques of documentary study, inducement techniques, and interview techniques. Data collection tool in this research are notebook and stationery, recording device, camera, and interview guide. Based on the research that has been done, it is found 48 interjection of Malay dialect Pontianak. The data is obtained from the data source used and has been checked by the informants who come from the kampung Dalam Bugis and kampung Bansir.   Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that interjection of Malay dialect Pontianak has 33 interjections of basic form and 15 interjection of derivative form, 37 meaning of interjections and 4 language functions.
