Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe the model of direct learning can improve the skills of writing letters class V students of State Elementary School 30 Pontianak Selatan. This research uses a descriptive method.Data collection techniques used are techniques of observation and document scrutiny techniques with data collection tools that is the observation sheet and document scrutiny sheet. The results of the study design study (RPP) of the cycle I score an average of 2.7, siklu II average score 3.45 and cycle III 3.82. Results from the study implementation of learning cycle I score average 2.67, cycle II average score 3.33 and cycle III average score 3.72. The result of letter writing skill from cycle I average score 61,79, cycle II average score 69,51 and cycle III average score 81,30.Based on the data obtained can be concluded that there is an increase in each cycle. Thus research on the application of direct learning model on learning to write letter can improve students' writing skills.  Keywords: Direct Learning Model, Writing Skill, Official Letters.
