Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of film as a media to the students"™ sense of nationalism in PPKn subject in class X SMK Al-Madani Pontianak. The method used for this research is an experiment in form of posttest-only control design. The source of this research is the students of class Xa and Xb of SMA Al-Madani Pontianak and the data is the students"™ answer sheets and the result of the interview with the teacher of PPKn subject and the students of class X. the result of this research shows that there is an effect with the use of film as a media to the students"™ sense of nationalism. The sense of nationalism here is divided into 4 indicators with 24 sub indicators showing different kind of attitude, however, the result can be classified as very high for the experiment class with the value of 85,73%, meanwhile for the control class the classification is considered high with the value of 72,46%. Based on the t test to the class Xa as the experiment class and XB as the control class showing the value of t as 9,009 with the level of significance 0,000 or in other words 0,000 is smaller than 0,05 therefore Ho is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect between using film as a media to the students"™ sense of nationalism.
