Abstract

The purpose of conducting this research because the lack of conceptual understanding questions and mathematical reasoning on algebraic expression which is used at school. McIntire test development is used to produce proper questions. The characteristics of test questions in this research based on the conceptual understanding questions and mathematical reasoning which is used at school,however the questions of the test were directly to each conceptual understanding&mathematical reasoning indicator. The samples of this research were the seventh grade students. There were 37 students in class 7b identified their conceptual understanding&mathematical reasoning before using the development questions and there were 37 students in class 7d identified their conceptual understanding and mathematical reasoning after using the development questions. The hypothesis of this research was Z Test. Based on the result of Z test ,there were differences in conceptual understanding and mathematical reasoning   before and after the students usingdevelopment questions in understanding.
