Abstract

The aims of this research was determine the application of Concept Attainment   with demonstrations can remediate students misconceptions in direct current electrical circuit material in class IX SMP Negeri 24 Pontianak. The research form of Pre-Experimental Design by design of One Group Pre-test Post-test Design involving 27 students as samples selected intact group by pulling the lottery. The data gathering is a double choice of multiple choice alternatives accompanied by reasons. The number of students who experienced misconceptions before applying Concept Attainment with demonstration of 80.54% and after applying Concept Attainment with demonstration of 34.86%. The results of the study based on the Mc Nemar test obtained a value of  counts for (131.16) >  which indicates that there is a significant conception change. This means that there was a significant change in conception between before and after being given remediation using Concept Attainment with demonstration of direct current electrical circuit material. The effectiveness of the misconception remediation activities in direct current electric circuit is a accompanied by an  Concept Attainment with demonstration to reduce the number of students who experienced misconceptions using the DQM price of 57.58% (medium category).
