Abstract

Abstract

The method used in this research is description with a qualitative method. The data"™s source of this research is words which are synonymous pairs in BDM. The technique used for data collection in this research are interview and recording techniques.The main instruments used in the data collection are word lists, recording devices, and folklore. Data analysis techniques are carried out through transcription, classification, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. Based on the data analysis, the conclusions of this research are:1. There are three forms of BDM synonym, which are: 1) synonym based on basic words with basic words; 2) synonym based on basic words with derivative words; and, 3) synonym based derivative words with deritative words. 2. There are three types of DBM synonym based on the word class, which are: 1) the synonym of noun class word is noun class word; 2) the synonym of verb class word is verb class word; and, 3) the synonym of adjective class word is adjective class word.
